Every few puzzles, a square with a red border hides a letter. The letters you collect spell out the treasure message: the book isn't a pile of exercises, it's one story to walk through.
Five different kinds of puzzle — word searches, crosswords, mazes, sudoku, secret codes — that take turns and get harder page after page, from rookie to champion.
Big squares made for small hands, words a child that age can already read, and all the answers at the back: they can check their own work without asking.
Real pages, not mockups
On the left, a story to read, with the words in colour; on the right, the crossword built from those same words. There are twenty-two pairs like this in the book.
The reading page
A full-colour illustrated story for every crossword.
The word search
Ten or eleven squares a side, each one over a centimetre wide.
The crossword
Written clues and a few letters given away.
The sudoku
Four by four: shapes first, then numbers.
You start as a rookie and finish as a champion: in the word search the words start hiding diagonally and backwards, the free letters get fewer, the mazes get trickier, the sudoku move from shapes to numbers. All the answers are at the back, so a child can check their own work.
Each world has its own words, its own crossword and its own illustrated reading page.
The series has only just come out. The first words from readers, parents and teachers will show up here: we only publish them when they are real and signed.
Have you used one of these books at home or in class?
Leave your review on the book's Amazon page: that's where it really helps other families find it.
Same layout, different world: a child who has finished one gets going faster on the next.
Paper, a pencil, nothing else
A gift for children who learn better by playing. Big format, full colour inside, all the answers, and a certificate at the end to fill in with your own name.
